Subject: [CR]1970s Coppi chrome fork for sale/trade - Merckx fork wanted

Hello CR group: I am seeking a fork to fit my 1974 Eddy Merckx frame (58cm). The frame is a nice classic frame that I bought new back in 1974. Over the years, I disassembled the bike because I was planning on restoring it and now I can't seem to find the original fork. A few years back I bought a really nice chrome Coppi chrome fork, with the letter "C" on the fork crown in black. Does anyone know what year that fork might be, or maybe willing to look at a photo of it to tell me more about it? I'm guessing its also 1970s by the look of it. Anyways, I was thinking someone on the group might be looking for a nice chrome Coppi fork or maybe someone has an old Merckx or probably a Falcon fork. I am not sure who made this frame for Merckx. It does look roughly like the old Falcons I have seen with the plain but nice non-cut-out lugs. I do recall very clearly what the original fork looked like, because I spent so many hours staring down at those fork crowns, many years back. It was originally Orange and Reynolds 531. It is the best riding bike I ever owned! The original Merckx fork had two points on the fork lug pointing down and the fork crown sloped down on each side and was flat sloping. If you have a possible match, email me a photo to check out, whether you have one to sell or not. I will be able to use it to show someone who may have one what I am looking for. Ideally, I could trade my Coppy fork for a Merckx fork.

Thanks,
