I've been riding my 73 Sports Tourer more lately and it isn't bad as an errand bike. The kickstand is useful and I like the Suntour barcons much better than those awful stem shifters. The wheels are true enough that the brakes can be adjusted so the brake lever extensions are sometimes useful.

A question: its derailer mount is broken off and there's one of those bolt on claw things. I find that I have to get the quick-release SUPER tight to keep the chain side of the axle from pulling out when pedaling. The claw is chromed. Should I, perhaps, roughen it up a bit to give the QR more friction on it? Or?
