so i emailed Gios and this is the response i got. so it looks like it could really be either. when i look at the medallions on my gios, i see no hints of gold anywhere on the lettering, sides of the lettering or in between the lettering or anywhere around the edges. this leads me to believe they were silver to begin with - not gold.
