Fred Delong's book from the 70s shows a track Paramount with QR hubs.

Confused the heck out of me for years, until Chuck put up the Campy timeline.

Perhaps I missed mention of this, and perhaps I am confused, but I believe there was a year or two of experimenting in the 60's where track hubs with QR's were available. There were some QR's supplied on Campy hubs way before CPSC that had an extreme curve and I've seen them on what I believe are original in the box Campy Track hubs.

My understanding (rumor I heard) was that after a year or two, this arangement was no longer deemed appropriate on the track and whatever powers that be ended their use.

My suspicion - never confirmed, was that Schwinn then bought up all the now unusable curved skewer ends from Campagnolo and used them on Paramounts.

Does anyone have more solid info on this?
