If you really care about the Varsity, it is at http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/bik/331523180.html.

But what struck me was the description:

"Yellow Schwinn Varsity 10-speed road bike from 1972 but recently tuned up so in excellent overall condition, 20" frame free of dents and rust, new 27"x1.25" tires fully inflated, rear reflector, always stored indoors (no rust). Excellent for getting around town or around campus."

Q: how many reasons can you think of that might explain why i never thought to check a Varsity for dents?

A1: Somehow I don't notice varsities. They aren't real bikes. So why would I check for dents?

A2: How would you dent a Varsity frame, anyhow? (It was welded from 1" super-heavy gauge water pipe).

Oh well, someone will want to buy it. It was about as idiot-proof as any derailleur bike made before indexing. And, of course, the only cog that ever wore out was the smallest rear, I think a 14. Remember the guide to keep the chain from going off the outer end of the FW?
