There have been a few Italvega threads lately, so I added a bit more specificity to the subject line, for ease of use :)
The frame you are looking at is being offered by our trusted listmember Otis (Jon) Williams. He and I have conferred on the subject, and Mr. Ritz has already set the record straight, off list. According to Mark R. the earliest S.S. models had eyelets, which came as complete news to me! I think I have photos saved of a similar frame, but I had imagined that it was probably named something like a "Super Turismo" model ... but nope ... Mark R. say's it's of the first group, year (approx. 1971), etc., of Super Speciales to be sold. So, this is a seemingly very uncommon, or dare I say even ... "rare" bird.
A perfect addition to the thread about quality "top of the line" for a specific company, that still falls into the "2nd tier" category overall. The big ugly seam under the bottom bracket shell certainly wouldn't come out of a shop like Masi, etc., yet my S.S. from the following year (sans eyelets, but still with the b.b. weld seam) rode REALLY great, despite those fine finish shortcomings.

Is this a Super Special or not. I say no because of the Bottom Bracket and the eyelets, very nice chrome though. Mr. Ritz you can get out of the Dog House on this.(just Joshin)
