Listed this week is another serviced and fully overhauled Sturmey FM 4-speed hub gear - this gear was the favourite of clubman in the 1940s and 50s. Another rare Sturmey listed is a rare FW with an alloy shell (with alloy shells they were only made for a year). The Bill Hurlow frame though built with relatively plain lugs is a great example of why Bill Hurlow ranks amongst the best of British framebuilders with lots of subtle touches - the slightly curved chainstay bridge is just brilliant... The Guerciotti road frame is very pretty and usefully small one... And I have turned up a Raleigh history which really does explain how the Raleigh company operated - this book has a recommended price of 50 GBP but my copy starts much, much lower... And whilst on the literature there are two copies of Cycling Plus with a two part feature on Classic bikes with a detailed account of restoring a Bates Cantiflex.
