Pic of the Day 20 May 2007

Very large image showing some interesting details on Robert Tanneveau's "Armor", seen here on his way to winning the 1936 Grand Prix de la Route. Note the box lining, tiny brake levers bodies, complex thorn catchers, lack of lug details at the seat cluster, slices of innertube to keep aluminum bottles securely in the bottle cage. No gloves! There's tape wrapped around the rear brake housing adjacent to the headset... perhaps to protect the housing from sharp edges, or maybe to stop rattling? There appears to be a stray braze-on on the downtube, below the decal - I think this is just flaw on the negative. From "L'Intran Match" No.513, 12 May 1936.
