Subject: [CR]FS---- HI-E rims and wheelset

Group--- All this talk about HI-E has forced me to drag some stuff out of the "destined for ebay" pile--- I do not know anything about the stuff or it's value---- planned on just putting it on auction and see what happens. But, since it is the subject of some discussion, I'll throw it out here and see what happens first.

Pair of NOS tubular rims--- 36 hole $50 (including special HI-E nipples)

Pair of NOS tubular rims--- 40 hole $50 (Including special HI-E nipples)

Wheelset-- used-- both wheels are HI-E tubular and have some glue residue on them. REAR is a 40 hole high-low hub with skewer. 24 of the spokes are on the high flange drive side, and 16 of them are on the low flange opposite side. 5-cross on the drive side, 3 on the other---- This wheel weighs almost nothing. One spoke is broken off at the nipple and some of the others are loose. FRONT is a 32 hole, conventional low flange with the same type of special skewer. It is radially spoked. It weighs even less than above. The spokes are double butted and are very thin (I don't do guages) You may wish to replace them, or just clean up the light corrosion with some simichrome--- I would do the latter. $175/Pair

Everything, including the bag of nipples for $225

Please note that the 32/40 wheelset would make a very unique contribution/addition to a classic British 32/40 bike! :-)

Discalimer: If I am asking too much for these, it is because I do not remotely know their worth, and I have just purchased a cycle treasure that I probably shouldn't have and kinda need as much as I can get to help alleviate the self-inflicted problem. Greed or stupidity?

Please contact me off line. Cheers and thanks--- Nelson Miller // Seattle WA // USA nelsmiller@msn.com
