Jan, I've asked the list in the past about the 74mm bottom bracket shell on Italian bikes and there was not much info offered. Maybe someone will will volunteer some new info this time around.

I've posted in the past about my August 1960 Cinelli SC with the 74mm bottom bracket shell and Campagnolo cottered bottom bracket with Cinelli (Magistroni) steel cranks with TA chainring adapter. Also my 1963 Masi Special with the 74mm bottom bracket shell and cotterless Campagnolo BB. The Masi BB shell has flanges. My '39 Bianchi racer, and my '50 Bianchi Folgorissima both have 74mm shells and both have flanges.

The Campagnolo BBs were introduced in 1958 in 68mm, 70mm and 74mm, both in cottered and cotterless axles. They first appear in the 1960 Catalog #14, and are in the '67 Catalog #15 and '68 Catalog #16... the 74mm axle is not included in the 1974 Catalog #17.

Anyone else have data???
