Subject: [CR]Record rear der problem update

First, thanks to all who have replied offlist. Here's where I'm at now.

I borrowed an alignment gauge and checked the drop-out hanger, which is fine.

I've removed the cage and spring from the der, and as a few have you had suggested it looks like the outer plate has bowed, causing an un-equal length of the parallelogram.

The bushings for the outer plate measure 43mm c-c, the inner plate measures 44mm c-c.

It looks like the plate has failed at the lower pivot (see 2nd picture), just curling up a bit.

So, now what do I do? I'm guessing bending the plate flat would just weaken it further and not hold. Bending the inner plate in to shorten it seems a bit hoopty? I suppose I could bend the drop-out hanger down to compensate, but again does not feel like a proper fix. I hate to give up on it as it's a very clean piece and otherwise in fine shape.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
