you have a paris sport 500....sold for 149.95 to 169.95 depending on the area and competition...wholesale was 110. from 1970 thru about 75.... made up by Vic Frayse to sell at his store in new jersey and for him to wholesale...it was at a price point to compete w/ similar "name brand" bikes but w/ the double quick release, Weinmann 999 centerpulls (consistently), hutchinson 70lb. gum walls, plus Christophe toe clips and straps, and i believe a kick stand and could be sold for 30 to 40 dollars less than a Gitane Gran Sport( the toe clips/straps and k/stand were an extra 15 to 20 bucks).....the later 500's i believe came w/ simplex prestiege, not the cheaper huret that is on your cycle.....that huret is simple, durable but couldn't handle a wide range freewheel well....the next up huret is the Alvitt(sp) but your model name fails me at this moment....the 500 had an alloy stem, maybe a Pivo, and chrome steel bars w/ plastic tape....the head lugs were contrasted in black on the 500 in its 3 colors...metallic deep blue, metallic deep red, and the ever abundant white. the model 100 was none QR anything....same frame tubeing which in english states "first choice"....no half chromed fork, painted. the model 700 was a cyclo cross bike that was the first i ever saw imported in any numbers w/ cantelever brakes WAY before anything else ever showed up on the scene, lots of mud clearance, stronglite 99 cranks, sew ups w/ a nice knobby from Wolber, the frame was special tubeing i think by Vitus....the 1000 was 531 db throughout, campag except brakes which were weinmann centerpulls, and came w/ sew ups, the bar and stem were TTT...the cycle could barely be set up w/ a wheelbase less than 40 inches and the fork had a nice little rake....it also came w/ an Ideale 90 saddle w/ chrome rails....silver only w/ white panels....tres comfy. Starnord i believe was a french tubeing company that also made bikes and for the right number would put whatever name you wanted on them...hence, the Paris Sport was born....Vic and Mike Fraysee did much to promote racing in the states and probably received too little credit for their efforts....they supported steve wozniak, a national track sprint champion, and even had miji reoch traveling around to promote the bikes and put a pretty face to the sport....she held the 3000 meter pursuit national record, competed in europe etcetera....she sadly was killed by a motorist while training in texas....that cycle may not seem to have much material value but there is much blood, sweat, tears, and glory in that name. long live paris sport. enjoy it. charlie flaherty baltimore maryland usa </HTML>
