Subject: [CR]More Info on Texas Vintage Ride/Roundup

Hi List Members, This is an idea that is still being born so it's not a baby yet. What I had envisioned is that in the spring and fall we have a weekend get together of Vintage Bicycle folks.I would be willing to start it here in Waco this fall. Then in the spring, at the next hosts choice of dates he or she puts on a similar get together in their town. This would allow each of us to enjoy what we like, which are the bikes and not have to always put on the event. It would give us all a chance to get away and see and ride someplace new. Some gatherings would be closer and some would be further. I have had off list contact from several list member who are enthused about the idea. I plan to pursue seeing if I can make it happen. I was unable to attend the Cirque so maybe we can start a mini one in the middle of the country. My idea for a schedule of events is a Saturday night dinner gathering at a local restaurant, order from the menu at you own expense. A Sunday morning 9am ride, 25-50 miles finish about noon for a sandwich buffet . If some one has some items to show or sell there would be time for it there. If I can con my wife into it she might take the Ladies on a tour of some of the old homes in the area if they are intrested. Perhaps a ribbon or such to the bike voted keenest by those who do the ride(you had to ride it on the ride). Just something fun and simple. Dale if I have overstepped the bounds of the list I apologize but reading the Cirque stuff pushed a button and fired me up to try something.
