Ben Spencer wrot: """" I need some information on my Raleigh Professional track frame. It is painted like a 1974 but it has A9405 as the serial number. There is no W which would be correct if it were a 74. Could it be a 66 painted in 74 or was there another numbering system for the track bikes? """"

I sez:

Lots of 73 and 74 high end raleighs had A serial numbers. I have had a 73 pro and a comp that both had A serial numbers.
>From http://retroraleighs.com/dating.html ### 3. The 1973 track frames begin with an "A". 4. There are several documented cases of '73 and '74 Professionals, Internationals, Competitions and RRAs with "A" serial numbers. Let the color scheme, decals and components be your guide. ###

So I say 73 or 74, unless it is a 57-59cm frame, in which case you should sell it to me.
