Yes: this is the way they came in the earlier years. I pulled many out of their boxes and assembled them. Unfortunately then it was just a job and it took a while for the love of quality to sink in. I liked the Italian bikes at work and the Peugeot's were just ho-hum The Mercians were still a pretty bike and I loved the quality of the paint. But a PX-10 nice bike but it was like a model T Ford...It only came in one color. But look at the price it now..... BT

I remember the days when for 5 or 10 bucks less you could take the bike home in the box and assemble it yourself. I remember unpacking them (to the point that this one is at), and just looking at things. Shops won't let you do that any more. Only got to do it once or twice, but definitely enjoyed it.
