Hi Dustin,

I had a set of these hubs at one time. Thought for sure I had photos of them but cannot find them now. The engraving is the real deal; (done at the Campagnolo factory.) I have some guesses as to what the engraving could mean. My first guess as to what S-U would mean is: "strada urbana" which would designate this hub for use on road/road rides (strada) and secondly, would make the hub suitable for urban (urbana) riding.

S-U could mean "Sport Utility." But that would be semi-ridiculous as Campagnolo is an Italian company.

I also thought of "Suburbia Utility"--(you know those areas in Southern California where every house looks the same? Like the area that screwball in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" lived--really depressing. The whole neighborhood is surrounded by a stone barrier that is painted a tan color. ) But I doubt that is what the S-U stands for.....

One thing you could do to help further your investigation of these hubs would be to remove the locknuts on each hub and note the date. I do not know the exact date of manufacture of these hubs, but they are rumored to have been made sometime between the death of the Record and Super Record groups and the birth of C-Record.

I am by no means a Campagnolo expert. So please take this post lightly.
