If we get to go WAY back with this thread--- My first bike was a Schwinn Black Phantom with the spring fork. Coming into our driveway at a good clip, I decided let the garage door stop the bike and let the spring fork absorb the shock-- Right? Wrong! A new face and spring fork later, everything was pretty much the same, only my engineering skills were much better.
