Yes, in the early 70's all the high volume French manufacturers made extremely similar models at any given price point, both in terms of frames and components. If a French bike from that era has been repainted and has no decals, it is extremely difficult to tell for sure what brand it is. If there are brazeons, these may give a clue, since most models had few if any brazeons. And sometimes there are identifiable differences in the seatstay attachment to the seat cluster. But often you never will know for sure. French constructeur frames, of course, were a completely different matter.
