As for the criticism against the ruling which does 'nt allow giving values I personally think it would open up the chance of people being mislead and even worse been exploited. Many of the members are aware of my views on the prices by which some of them have been over charged for certain purchases. To allow valuation on list would open the flood gates and give folks a false impression of what their goods are truly worth.

I just think allowing valuation opens the list up to a lot of crass "Hi, I've never cared particularly about vintage bicycles, and don't particularly care now, but I just found a ______ and I'm wondering what I should ask for it. Oh, and don't look for me the day after I get my answer, because I won't be here."
