Keith,

Have a look at the CR archives - you will find quite a bit of info on Woodrup.

However, to summarize, Woodrups were / are one of what we 'up North' used to regard as the 'big three' specialist frame builders in the Leeds / Bradford area (the other two being Ellis Briggs and Bob Jackson).

All three are still in business and a bit of googling will find you their respective web sites.

I think both Woodrup and Ellis Briggs are still run by family lineage from the original founders, but the Jackson name has changed hands a couple of times since the 1970s I believe.

Having owned and raced versions from all three marques there was never anything to chose between them really and the quality of build and finish was never anything other than impeccable.

I disposed of my Woodrup many years ago now - probably to buy the 'latest thing' and wish I still had it (in it's faux Merckx Molteni livery) - ho hum...

I'm certain that there other UK members of the list who like me have fond memories of their Woodrups, and they may also respond to your post - but as I say there's plenty of earlier traffic to chew over in the archives.
