Sorry about that. I added a paragraph between the TdF mention and the Nivex. The Nivex was patented in 1937 and entered production in 1938. The first review of the Nivex that I have found was in Cyclotourisme 7/1938. That issue also contained an ad that stressed the constant chain gap of the Nivex, a feature that still is considered paramount for consistent shifting across the gear range.
