hi tom,

i'm not positive but i think the globe logo with more sun rays and the loopy el as used on shift lever bands and gran sport fd's coincided with the open c period..

one other letter in the globe logo that changed subtly over time is the C.. there is a version campagnolo used for a brief period around 1960 that has a long straight tail; different from the earlier ('58-'59 ?) with long tail and slight upward curve and also different from the familiar and ubiquitous (post '60 ?) logo with shorter tail and curve...

this straight-tailed C i've noticed on the last version gran sport front derailleur, the very first version record front derailleur, early (but not all) 'no record' hubs, and some old campy tools..
