The good: 1977 Austro-Daimler Vent Noir, Reynolds 531 double-butted throughout. Matte black with gold accents. First generation black Dura-Ace components (really sharp black drilled chainrings, black calipers+shfit levers, silver drilled brake levers). Original bill of sale and owner's manual are in the mail to me.

The bad for me: 25" frame, a bit too tall for me. That's ~62cm, with a standover of 87cm (funny, that's exactly where my pubic bone is! Even Grant Peterson can't make me believe I'm entirely comfortable on it).

The ugly: the surface of the frame is in lousy shape: decals and paint missing, and, yes, rust. I had my mechanic look at it, and he says it's just surface rust--I was hoping the frame was shot and I could part out the bike without guilt, but I'd like to keep it together if possible. Front hub needs to be repacked.

Pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10509480@N04/ (if the link doesn't work, that's flickr, under username "herdingbats.") The incongruous deep-v in the pics is not the one I'm selling; it's on there so I can ride the bike.

$250 for it, including the saddle in the photos if you want it, not including pedals (I'll throw on some black plastic flats to get you home if you'r local and need 'em).

A friend is selling a 1977 Brooks for $50 which I'll pick up and mount if you're interested in period-correct completeness.

I'll consider offers for parts, but I'd prefer to keep it together.

Shipping will be actual cost.

I'd love to keep this but it's just too big for my 5'11" self.
