This is a distinct exception to my convention of NOT posting materials related strictly to specific bicycle manufacturers (...i.e. Bianchi, Peugeot, Raleigh, etc.) inasmuch as I consider Mark Bulgier's exemplary hosting of cycling related material to be a more appropriate general repository for such. Moreover, I am inclined to leave open the prospect of assembling, sorting, and republishing vast quantities of manufacturer specific materials and/or historical accounts to those motivated brand zealots who are likely to do a better job than I ever could. However, as a long tenured Gitane owner who at a tender age also once worked at an LBS which featured that very brand, I feel a more personal connection to this particular marque. And speaking of individuals with highly focused interests, please know that I have taken the liberty of forwarding an "OFF LIST" message directly to Stephan Andranian notifying him that he is welcome to either link directly to or alternately reconstitute in its entirety any and all of this very same Gitane material with respect to his superlative GitaneUSA.com website in order that it might reach an even larger audience.
