I almost had one, missed out on it on Ebay a few months ago. Here's one of the pics from the auction. Http://www.mindspring.com/~sblackstone/e9e8_1.jpg

Not much of a picture, but it shows enough to get the idea. One of the custom frame books of the time, I can't recall which one gives a clue as to why it wasn't successful. They say the frame weighs a bit more than a really nice steel frame.

They also mention Carlton experimented with a carbon frame in 1972.

I have the Mossberg dealer package somewhere, which may have a much better picture.

Thinking back to that era, I saw the Mossberg ads but never a real bike. Act ually I don't even remember seeing those bikes at the NY or Fla bike shows e ither although they must have been on display! Being always the skeptic, I w onder how many of those actually made it onto the asphalt.

Do any of us have a Mossberg carbon bike? Seen one in use with your very own eyes?
