I have always suspected that tool manufactures take the same basic finished tool forging and then stamp either the metric size or the Imperial size on the tool before it is chromed . When you attempt to measure a 14 mm vs. a 9/16 or a 16mm vs. a 5/8 ; be it a Craftsman, Proto, Snap On or whatever, there is no measurable difference. I doubt very much that a tool manufacturer will set up a separate machine to produce a wrench that varies by only .005" from it's Imperial near relation. Just my .005" worth. Greg Lone Langley B.C.
