Two more questions then. Will normal 144 chainrings fit the Mistral, leaving aside cosmetics, will they work? Also, I've heard Ofmega BB axles had a different taper from most. Will JIS axles work perhaps, or Phil Wood?

The sad part was they were out of stock so I got the Ofmega Super Competizione, but after years of regret got one on Ebay. They would definitely go on a mid 80's Italian frame, maybe not on topic for CR but the coolest cranks ever made in my opinion. Two one Ebay now http://ebay.com/<blah> QihZ005QQcategoryZ56195QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and http://ebay.com/<blah> QQitemZ110164387064QQihZ001QQcategoryZ56195QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZView Item both used but look to be in excellent condition, however seller cod1996 told me he would have a NOS in a couple months.

Anyone know in what time span the Ofmega Mistal crank was originally available? I alway thought the crank looked very cool. And having a number of bikes for which all-Campy (except brakes) is the only correct equipment, including three Paramounts, Two Raleigh Pros and an International, a Windsor Pro, an Allegro Special and a Legnano Tipo Roma, I get a bit bored with the all-Campy thing. So I have several Italian framesets, mostly earlty to mid 80's that I'd like to build up with Italian but non-Campy bits, incuding two Gianni Mottas, a Torpado and as Masi Prestige. The Mistral seems like a good option, but I'm not sure if it was around in the On-Topic early 80's, or only later in that decade.
