Campy freewheels are quite extraordinary. Sure they wear rather fast - but they work wonderfully and are amazingly light. Their reputation and price are absolutely deserved.

Regarding Campy rims, some were just OK (Record Crono I believe was just OK), but then there were some such as the Record Chromium (if memory serves me right, someone help me out!) that were just off the charts amazing with regards to strength and weight. You could find such rims on bikes that were used for thousands of miles and they were almost magically straight.

There was a Campy catatalog (just a few pages or so) that highlighted the different rims. Of course, the catalog won't tell you which ones were the gems, and which ones were just OK - but there is good techincal info. The catalog was also imbedded in some of the larger catalogs I believe such as 19.
