George asked:

"I'm outing an alleged Bianchi from Alessandro in Italy #270162005856 However, I'm not just sure what I'm seeing here. Is this an amalgam of parts or an important bike worth pursuing?"

While I would not claim to be an expert on the brand, to my eyes, this bike is without doubt an amalgam of parts and not an original bike. My guess is that it is also not the original color of the frame.

Going through the photos featured here in the order that they appear: http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r207/tullio_s_quickrelease/Bianchi%20S implex/

The drop-outs show a lower range model. The hubs with oiler show a lower evel model. The brake lever hoods are not original, nor are the cable adjuster, The frame angles point to city 'sport' bike that would have been fitted with upright bars and not a racing model with drop bars. The Universal 125 brakes are much later than the frame and other components, the ITM stem and bars cannot be earlier than the 70's as that is when ITM was founded, the construction of the fork crown as seen from the bottom clearly indicates a lower range bike, the wood rims are most definitely not original. The front derailleur chain guide is fitted too internally on the rod to be original on this bike. The chainrings are not original Bianchi. Note the Weinmann red washer on the rear brake centerbolt. Check out the chainstay bridge...

Notwithstanding all of the above, I still find a certain interest in the bike as a whole and it might find a buyer.
