Hey Chuck,

I think that Peter Weigle bike is more of a touring bike than a mountain bike. Calling that a mountain bike is like saying Bruce Gordon's rock n road bikes are mountain bikes. While They both share some of the characteristics of a mountain bike, they are touring bikes.

To me, it is borderline KOF but just this side.

Hey Mike,

Do you remember that cartoon in the New Yorker magazine where Mom and here small son are sitting at the dinner table; "It's broccoli, dear." / "I say it's spinach, and I say the hell with it."

Yeah I didn't think so, but take my word for it, it was funny.

Peter Weigle wrote, "This is a nice fillet brazed example of the classic old school mountain bike." Clearly, if Peter says it is a mountain bike it's a mountain bike... and I say the hell with it!

Hey Chuck,

Come on, lighten up. Never mind the builder's own words. Maybe Mike is right, this is a touring bike, not broccoli. Sure, it has 26-inch wheels, almost no BB drop, flat bars, and is reported by the seller as too light to carry heavy loads, but maybe it's a touring bike. Sadly, I suppose that means Peter can't design a touring bike to save his life, but spinach is spinach, right?
