In an out of the way response to Kevin's query about the hubs to use on a Masi Special, it should be noted that high or large flange hubs have always cost about 10% more than the equivalent model of small or low flange hubs. So given Faliero's known love of money, I sincerely doubt that he would have spec'ed the more expensive ones if he was not getting paid a supplement. The high or large flange hubs would therefore have been an option, but likely a resonably common request.

This same price difference held true, as long as Campagnolo offered the two versions. This why you see plenty more small or low flange hubs, and why the large or high flange ones are often worth considerably more. I only wish that I had bought a few hundred pairs of C-Record sheriff's star hubs at $43 a pair (that is the price listed in my 1986 price list). Even the Nuovo record high or large frlange ones would have been a good deal at $38 a pair...
