Subject: [CR]Dating Classic Brooks B17 Champion Sprinter Saddle (What's That C 12 OBM Under the Saddle?)

Dear rendezvous folks, Recently purchased a classic Brooks B17 Champion Sprinter from Hilary St one (for my '58 Ideor Asso track bike restoration), and wanted to defini tively date the saddle. Looks just like the saddle on the Classic Rendev ous site, under British Isles Components / Brooks / Sprinter Model - ova l Brooks logo, with BROOKS in center, with CHAMPION lower left, B 17 low er bottom, SPRINTER lower right - except this saddle is quite worn, and is not in as good of shape as the one in the three pics. On the underside of the leather, on the right side are large embossed 1/ 2" capital letters that read: C 1 2 (read vertically), and O B M (read v ertically). Saddle is quite worn, the steel frame was painted black, and is a bit rusted.

Any help date this baby would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
