Subject: [CR]Questions about these OLD alloy track bars

List: I just purchased (through a local CraigsList seller) what I thought w ere some circa 1950's track bars. I saw only a small low resolution image a nd assumed the bars were steel. They have a VERY extreme drop, much deeper than any of my steel Cinelli bars and no flat section on the tops. In fact,
they immediately sweep forward and down, appearing like a half circle when
viewed from the top or front. They have a very long forward reach as well.
There are no markings on the bars. I was told by the seller that they were
on an old Atala chrome track bike. To me, the bend suggests a 50's (or ear lier) bar. My question is, when did alloy bars first appear on track bikes?
Any suggestions as to which manufacturers were the first to do so? I will try to snap some pics and post to wool jeresey later this evening. Thanks f or any pointers. Matthew Bowne Brooklyn, New York
