This is the most annoying feature of this otherwise great list - that oftentimes (much more often for some reason than on other similar lists) list members choose to reply off-list with good answers to perfectly legitimate and on-topic questions, providing info that would've been very useful for others but due to off-list replying is not shared with the list and is lost forever in the private mailboxes instead. As a newbie, I've often found myself in situations when I search the list archives for a specific topic only to find the exact same question being asked, but with no archived replies. Very frustrating, especially knowing that most probably the poster of the question got his answers privately.

ATM, I'm planning to build my early 1950ies RRA with a 4 speed FM (medium-range) hub.
