I'm still a newbie here, but I'll go out on a limb here...
My understanding is that the fancy engraved crests on the bars also came to the end coincident with Cinelli's sellout to Columbus, c.1978.
My understanding is that Mod. 65 had the double crests until that time, while the other models (Campione, Giro, etc.) had one knights crest plus the model crest until the Columbus takeover.
