An English-framed bike I bought, from around 1980, had a pair of large-flange Pelissier hubs, laced to dimpled Weinmann rims. The hubs looked a lot like Normandy hubs. These ones weren't a highly finished version (nor were any of the bike's other parts) but the axles spun smoothly.
