that's a high price for that bike. It is in nearly pristine condition, and I'm sure that was a factor (does anyone ever wonder how these things stay so immaculate? I mean, that's an OLD bike..)..but it doesn't even have the cool simplex JUY derailleur. In fact, I wonder if that rear derailleur is a replacement. Could it be?
It does have the cool flat-rail Ideale saddle though.
Seems like it went for about a grand more than some kind of reasonable market price...and, pace Pete Kohler, it went to the ol' U, S, of A.
These old ones show up seldom enough though that maybe it's tough to say what they're worth in general.
And it does look like two people were duking it out there pretty seriously before the end.
