Much as I agree with this poster's sentiments, the major paradigm of this list is that it is hosted, and the host gets to make the rules no matter how absurd they may be. In this case, I find the constraints quite rational and tend to make for excellent comradeliness despite many disagreements.

My particular 'irk', especially with the international group we play with who pays for bandwith, is the lazy neglect of editing quoted text. this is a really common mail list etiquette, and not specific to this list. Just a thought.
