Mike Kone's Vintage Bicycle Racing Newsletter had a feature on Chuck Schmidt's Peugeot with all the neat features. Thevenet's Tour-winning bike was similar - brazed-on Mafac centerpulls and all. There was a similar bike on e-bay earlier this year, and I was tempted. I remember it was not cheap, but then it was in pristine condition.

I once rode 400 km in a day on a randonneur version from the same shop. It was nice, but a far cry from a Singer or an Herse. The Mafac brakes were on braze-ons, but the rack was a generic TA. The geometry was ill-suited to carrying a handlebar bag. I think Peugeot probably was better at racing bikes.
