I am looking to buy a Sturmey Archer ASC toggle/indicator spindle; alternatively, what can I use in place of the original that will work? Perhaps a modified 4 speed toggle?? Thanks for your input Sheldon!

My Sturmey Archer manual, ca 1953, shows the indicator rods/chains for a lot of models. For the ASC, the piece that is inside the hub, the "indicator," is unique to the ASC. However, a good machinist should be able to modify the FW, FG, FM, FC part to work. The "coupling," which is the piece with the chain, is shared with those models. Unfortunately, the pictures are not dimensioned, but look to be at 1:1 so you can put a part on the picture to check what it is.

good luck!
