Subject: [CR]Williams C1200 Dbl Chainring Set (C1232) - more questions

Peter :

Congratulations on the affordable eBay purchase, and special thanks for the web pointer. As noted in the pointer you posted, up to now, I've been wading through the Professor Eddywilly cartoons ... and my only real technical information has come from Holdsworth Aids catalogs.

Here are a few questions. I wonder if anyone can confirm, deny or comment.

Was the "C1232" understood to be indeed a chrome steel double ringset for a C1200 crankarm exclusive application? Or, was the "C1232" sold as a complete chainset. Are the arms the same, or is there a subtle crankarm difference? Was the "C1232" understood to be 1/8? (with LC1232 as the 3/32" version). What is the range of ringsizes for the INNER ring only? What is the range of ringsizes for the OUTER ring only? Does anyone personally own any C1200 ring inventory, that suggests the bolt hardware/sleeve really did vary on a C1200 arm?

Any additional information is truly appreciated, if anyone can clarify the C1200 history a little better than the classiclightweights link.

Many Thanks / Kindest Regards, Tory Werne Woodstock, Georgia USA -----------------------------------------------

Regarding Tory Werne's comment on the Williams C1200 Dbl Chainring set and "catalogues tell me 46/49 and 47/50 were the valid combinations (C1232 ringsets)"

the Classic Lightweights UK website recently posted a new page on Williams cranksets, the differences between them (see table entries for C1200 and C1232 cranksets in this instance), and chainring availability.
