Subject: [CR]FS: 1954 Witcomb Track Bike, $1500

Hello listers,

I am selling my 1954 Witcomb track as seen at:

http://www.classicrendezvous.com/British_isles/Witcomb_UK/Witcomb_UK_JT.htm

The bike was acquired from Hilary Stone some years ago and sent to Barrie Witcomb for a respray in the Witcomb team colors, Lilac and Black. There is a barely noticeable top tube ding that was there before painting. I then built it up with a Williams C1200 chainset, sewups with NOS airlite hubs laced to some older Fiamme rims. GB courier front brake, GB stem, ? Bar. Seatpost and seat are new, not period. Though I have enjoyed some vintage rides on it, the bike is too small for me and it mostly hangs in the garage. Seat tube is 22 1/2 inches c-to-t, and top tube 21 1/2 inches c-to-c. Lugs are Oscar Egg. There is a brake chip in the paint on the downtube that is new since the photo. The chrome fork is original, and the chrome is all there but is not great. The chainset was rechromed before I purchased it, and there is flaking at the pedal. I have some period correct pedals that I never mounted as I always use frogs.

Email me off list if interested.

Thanks,
John Tisdale
