and hearing of the 26.0 post, I HOPE this is a Falcon Merckx. It does not look up to the standards of any "real" merckx I have seen.

Is there a history of Eddie Merckx's endorsed bikes and their fabricators? (I don't know the Flemish for "constructeur".) Who would associate a Belgian known in his racing days as "the Cannibal" with couture?

A difference seems to be that in the world of women's fashion the names of the premier designers are known when they differ from the houses (eg Dior, St. Laurent, Chanel) they work for.
