I don't have a lot of experience with eBay; I've perhaps only ever bought half a dozen items from there in my life. However, something I discovered very early was to put the auction on my watch list, check if it's still worth it to me in the last few hours and put in my maximum bid with maybe 5 minutes to go to see what happens. I have a hunch that's what a lot of people do (not counting the real pros, who use various sniping aids). The way you say you run your auctions, yes, you get what you want and the winner gets what he wants, but there could be many others out there who may have wanted the item even more and would have paid more, but didn't have the chance because the auction was ended before they expected. Do you see what I mean?
