Many thanks for the wonderful account of your ride in L'Eroica 2007.
That was the best description I have ever read, in any publication, of what it must actually be like to ride over those famous roads.
The actual experience of riding the route always seems to be minimized as everyone is caught up in the overall experience of simply being over there in the beautiful countryside, seeing the amazing old villages, stopping at the wonderful little hotels and restaurants, and of course eating the food and drinking the local vino.
I hope in some future year I may actually follow along behind you. Perhaps with you as my guide, setting the pace.
