Toni,

The Ideale 92 saddle was introduced in late 1977 at the Paris Salon de Bicyclette and was generally available for public purchase by mid season of sales year 1978. It was produced in both a natural leather or black hue and was slightly larger than their venerable model 90 (...270 mm by 170 mm wide as opposed to 268 mm by 158 mm for the Ideale 90). Originally available only in this sizing, a subsequent short version which is generally considered to be "women's specific" in its design was eventually also made available (...230 mm by 170 mm wide) although I do not have solid information as to just when this supplementary edition was first offered.

Robert "currently enduring less than Ideale communications" Broderick ...the "Frozen Flatlands" of South Dakota Sioux Falls, USA

P.S. As I have had to unexpectedly shut down my principal computer due to a "singing hard drive", I am temporarily without easy access to a good deal of stored information and email communications. I would like to publicly apologize to those out there (...and I know that there are at least a couple of you) otherwise anticipating my reply or response to specific questions or commitments. It is my most sincere hope that I will have my computing circumstance remedied within the next week or so, and at that time, I will begin the process of following up on outstanding issues and obligations. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
