Current riders for Baldy this Saturday:

Randy Dugan and friend Chuck Schmidt Steve Maas Davis Jensen Rich Pinder James Valiensi Omar Firestone Charles Andrews

If you're planning to do this ride, let me know, just so we know you're coming. This is an informal, not-organized ride. No liability is expressed or implied. Everyone rides at their own risk. This is a very challenging ride, and requires excellent bike-handling skills on the downhill leg.

Weather is forecast to be sunny and mild. Perfect weather for Baldy. Onshore winds should push all the smoke from fires inland, and that should not be an issue.

Time for another ride up to Baldy Village!

For those die-hard hill-climbers among us, this is always a satisfying ride.

This is an informal ride, just some friends getting together to ride up to the Village.

Meet at Pioneer Park in Azusa (on Sierra Madre Blvd) at 8:30am. We'll leave at 9am sharp. Mapquest will show the way.

We ride to Glendora Mt. Road, up to Glendora Ridge Road, along the switchbacks to the Village, then back down Baldy Road to Claremont and food! The entire ride is about 50 miles, about half uphill, and half downhill.

This is an epic climb, with a very exciting downhill. The climb is about 5000 feet in 22 miles.

I'm assembling a list of folks who will be coming, so please let me know, so we know to expect you.

Note that this is NOT a no-drop ride, but I am generally sweeping the rear. It's unlikely you'll be slower than I am...to paraphrase another list-member, I'm generally about as fast as a flock of turtles.

It's always a great day. Let's hope for good weather...
