Subject: [CR]Needed: 140mm (5 and 1/2 inch) axle for Racelite hub

My friends, I have an old Racelite hub (are there new ones?) that I'd like to build into a wheel and use one one of my fixed gear bikes. The problem is that these hubs are meant for forks with 96mm spacing - and for dropouts that are a bit thin by more modern standard. So I'm in need of a high quality (e.g. Chrome-Moly) axle, at least 140mm (i.e. 5 and a half inches) long that is 5/16" in diameter and whose threaded portion is cut to 26 Threads Per Inch. So far, all the longer high quality 5/16" axles I've found are threaded 24 TPI. But that prevents me from using the original cones and all the lovely axle nuts that I have for these hubs. Perhaps someone in Britain can spare a longer axle for this hub, or can direct me to a source? Best regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
