Dearest List,

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages,

We will now get down to some serious business. Very, very serious business! As many of youse are aware, I have been "lessening the load", and I now offer to you a very, VERY special Curt Goodrich touring bicycle.

Please go here for photos:

This frame was custom built for Chris Beyer in 2002. Unfortunately, Chris did not get to enjoy his bike. Chris passed away not long after taking delivery. He had only dry mounted some of the components on his new custom frame.

I was contacted by Joe Bender Zanoni in reference to a W.B.Hurlow bicycle that Joe was selling for Chris' wife. I saw all the bicycles and equipment offered for sale and went home that evening with the Hurlow and the Goodrich.

The Goodrich frame was painted in "Bugatti Blue" by Brian Baylis and was flawless. These few years have given her the beginnings of a wonderful patina; a couple of microscopic chips.

Please go to Curt's website for information on his custom built frames. THIS frame is THE frame you will see on the home page. Here is the link:

She is, in fact, the second frame Curt built with HIS name on her; after around 1,500 builds!

More photos of this frame are in the "gallery" area of his website.

The parts mounted on her now are, for the most part, as Chris had first mounted. I have changed the bar and stem, which I will keep. She had a Nitto stem and Nitto "noodle" bars. I will mount the bar and stem of your choice if you provide me with them so that when you receive this bicycle, she will be nearly ready to ride.

Pictures speak a thousand words, and with all of these photos, I'm not going to write a big description. But if you do need more information, please e-mail me and then lets talk over the phone.

Curt Goodrich is one heck of a nice guy and when I checked with Curt, this is what he told me it would cost to build this frame today:

" -Price today is $2600 for frame and fork with those Pacenti lugs. -Replacement would be around $2800 with that paint."

These are the specifics on her geometry:

ST= 55.5cm center to center TT= 57cm and level SA= 72 degrees HA= 72.5 degrees Fork rake= 47mm BB drop= 80mm CS= 43cm Rear hub width= 135mm

I have ridden this bike very few miles; maybe 600. She is wonderful, but just not suited to my style. To any of you that have ridden with me, you know: hard pushing and sprinting. She is, however, the ultimate day touring bike. PERFECT for L'Eroica next year !

A quick check on the parts mix totals around $1,800.00

The complete bike would therefore cost around $4,600.00 to replace today.

I am asking $3,500.00 for the whole bike...almost, ALMOST complete. This price does NOT include the bar and stem that you see in the pictures. I also want to keep the handlebar bag and saddle bag. These are available from Gilles Berthoud new. Again, I will mount the bar and stem you send me. That's 24% less then "new".

This Curt Goodrich is a quality and style of bicycle that we all lust after. Here is your chance to pay a fraction of what she cost new and much less then today's replacement cost.

Please enjoy viewing these pictures. Then realize that this is a very, very rare opportunity. Take advantage of it!

Packing included, shipping via UPS or Fed-Ex Ground at actual cost.

Payment via all the normal types.

Thank youse one and all,

John T.Pergolizzi
