Hello All,

It doesnt seem like its been over a week ago since we were riding challenging the roads of L' Eroica. But I can just close my eyes and I'm back in the Brooks saddle, shifting to a low gear and searching for traction as I guide the 1956 Cinelli up the strada bianca. A rider passes me on a beautiful unknown maker Cambio Corsa bike, his pedal strokes are smooth making the impossible grade seem almost effortless..... Fausto would be proud. At the top of a climb, I'm greeted by a group of vintage red Moto Guzzi motorcycles, some riders wearing puddin bowl helmets. Further into the ride, I spot a WW2 Willys Jeep, fully restored being driven by an extremely attractive young Italian lady. My late Nino would be quite delighted to have seen this.... he drove one just like it in the invasion of Sicily. With my nonexsistant Italian language skills, the bicycle became the medium. I guess we Cinelli riders seek each other out. I rode with a number of Italian Cinelli owners, a bike shop owner from Firenze and an engineer from Modena. At the rest stop I spotted an Italian woman riding an ancient silver Cinelli complete with Cinelli cranks. L' Eroica is the be - all - end - all of vintage cycling events. Yes, I did not want this ride to end.
